mechmine - sensors are our data sources
Sensors are the sources of data for mechmine's M2M (machine-to-machine) Cloud-platform. mechmine is sensor agnostic and open to sensors from third party suppliers.
Our own sensors exploit COTS MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technologies but mostly small piezo-based (vibration) sensors. Our sensors can contain additional features, called intelligent data pre-processing, in order to manage economically the wireless data volume.
When compared with MEMS-based vibration sensors, the use of piezo-sensors for vibration monitoring yields up to 40 dB higher signal dynamics and a measurement bandwidth of typically 17-25 kHz instead of 1-5 kHz only. High signal dynamics and measurement bandwidth clearly aid early detection and simplify the process of identifying the root-cause of an anomaly.
